The Coach
After formally qualifying as a coach under UK Athletics ‘Coach in Running Fitness (CIRF)’ framework, I’ve continued to gain experience in training and coaching in both an individual, and group setting.
Having initially been a run leader and then a coach at St Albans Striders for several years, I was lucky enough to coach running groups across all abilities and disciplines including Road, Track, Trail and Cross Country.
Now, my focus through revo coaching has been on working with individuals in a one-on-one setting, allowing a tailored approach to meet the unique needs and goals of each athlete. This personalised approach allows me to truly understand each individual, helps develop a connection, and builds trust to give the best opportunity for goals to be achieved.
This hands-on approach, being able to guide, support and motivate to help individuals hit their goals gives me as much drive and motivation as them, it’s why I love to coach!
The Runner
I’ve always been a runner but that was only ever on the football pitch…
Things changed when I randomly signed up to the Snowdonia Marathon in 2012 and then had to try and figure out how on earth I was going to complete it. I mapped out a plan, trained hard and managed to complete it in 4.26.
From that time I have been dedicated to improving my running. I focused on educating myself on the sport to try and figure out what measures I could put in place to show continuous improvement.
Through a process driven approach, I’ve since managed to run a sub 3 hour marathon, as well as achieve other successes I wouldn’t have thought possible back in 2012. This has included running 72 miles in a 12-hour timed event (finishing 1st Male), and picking up the Most Improved Male award at St Albans Striders in 2019.
I’m now passionate about sharing my experience and passing on my learnings to others through my coaching.
Previously running with St Albans Striders in Hertfordshire I now run as a member of Bellahouston Road Runners in Glasgow and Vegan Runners.
